Participants are taught how to prepare for and
deliver project-related presentations that closely
meet the needs and expectations of the stakeholders.
In particular, participants will learn how to
filter and edit the huge amounts of information
they have access to in order to provide only necessary
decision-making data, analysis, options, and recommendations
in the optimum amount of time.
This seminar introduces
a proven three-step methodology that ensures
participants quickly learn and understand the
principles of effective project presentations.
They get the opportunity to apply and develop
their presentation skills through practice and
critical analysis in a safe, risk-free environment.
Step
One: Presentation Analysis Audience: It is very important
to consider presentations from the audiencefs point
of view. Many presenters make the same presentation
error; they talk about what is interesting for them.
They rarely consider what the audience may find
interesting, or useful. Participants learn how to
analyze their audience and understand their business
needs in order to deliver appropriately targeted
presentations. Objectives: Without a tightly focussed
objective, a presentation will meander aimlessly,
boring and confusing the audience and wasting everyonefs
time. Participants in this seminar will learn how
to correctly identify or recognize the true business
objective of their presentation. Structure: A logical flow of ideas
will make it easy to follow and understand the information
from raw data all the way through to conclusions
and recommendations.
Step
Two: Presentation Design Introduction - Presenters must
gain the interest of the audience and motivate
them to listen. Participants learn how to do this
by clearly connecting the content of their presentation
to the needs and expectations of their audience.
Status - Presentations must be
easily to follow, understand and remember. All
information must be presented in a way which is
quick and easy to understand; Powerpoint and other
visual media can help to simplify and explain
complex information. Analysis - Presenters analyze
the status/data to reveal necessary conclusions
and project implications. Plan - Presenters must clearly
explain the options available for moving forward
and the trade-offs or other costs and/or benefits
of taking them. Conclusion - Presenters must
achieve their original objectives in the conclusion.
Participants learn how to conclude their presentation
so that audience remembers the key points, understand
what action they need to take, and how to use
the information presented.
Step
Three: Delivery & Question Handling
Delivery: Participants learn how to use their
voice, eye contact, posture, and gestures to present
clearly and confidently.
Questions: Handling questions from the audience
can be difficult. Presenters learn how to stay
in control and on message despite objections from
the audience.
